Welcome to the Dining Hall and Homeless Little House Community Program. The objective is to take all of these homeless communities that's spread out under overpasses and by creeks and turn them into a community of little home tenants. Using the areas the homeless are familiar with to create the little house community, adding a dining hall and a food mark store is a major contribution to their being able to sustain themselves. Some homeless people do receive cash aid and food stamps from the state, for those homeless individuals having a food mart store for everyday living items and occasionally a meal is very helpful. The little home community will also have portable bathrooms and portable washer and dryers. After the little home community has been established, services can be offered to the homeless in these communities.
Services like application assistance, temporary medical coverage assistance, job retraining and job search assistance, job interview training, enrollment assistance and more.
The dining hall will have the capacity to hold up to 300 people inside and 150 to 200 outside. Connected to the dining hall will be a food mart. This food mart will sell everyday items for living but will never sell alcohol product. The dining hall will be used to feed the homeless in the little home community and the homeless that's not in the little home communities.
Security will be present and visible at all times on the dining hall property. Security will also be present in the little home communities.
For those homeless members of the little home community that would like to return to the workforce, the dining hall would be used to acclimate them back into a steady working habit. They will start by volunteering time at the dining hall, which will help them get back into a work routine and working with other people. They can get trained on how to fill out a application and how to conduct a interview. When interested we can help them get into a training program.
Under this program look what can be accomplished. Someone that is homeless can get into a little home and get housing, volunteer time at the dining hall to get reacquainted with working habits, get assistance with felling out job applications, tips on job interviews, get job training and land a job and eventually move out of the little home community into their own home and make way for the next person to move into their spot in the community. They can also return from time to time to let the other homeless community members know he/she did it and you can do it to.
The homeless little home program can be very useful for someone for whatever reason found themselves homeless but don't wanna stay in that situation. This program gives them a legitimate chance at getting back on their feet and becoming a productive member of society again.
